Download and install the macOS desktop app (.dmg or .zip).

2. Verify checksum (optional)

If your organization validates downloads, publish SHA-256 checksums and compare locally.

  1. Open Terminal.
  2. Run: shasum -a 256 VoiceTelPhone.dmg
  3. Compare the output to the value posted on your release page.

3. Install

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg.
  2. Drag VoiceTel Phone.app to the Applications folder.
    1. Eject the disk image when finished.
  3. On first launch, if macOS warns that the app is from the Internet:
    1. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security.
    2. Scroll to the security message for VoiceTel Phone and click Open Anyway.

4. First launch

  1. Open VoiceTel Phone from Applications.
  2. Allow microphone access when prompted.
    1. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
    2. Enable access for VoiceTel Phone.
  3. Enter your SIP credentials (domain, username, password) per your admin.

FAQ

Q: How do I uninstall VoiceTel Phone?
A: Quit the app, open Applications, and drag VoiceTel Phone.app to the Trash.
Q: The app won't open after installation.
A: Right-click the app and choose Open to bypass Gatekeeper. You can also go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Q: The microphone isn't working.
A: Ensure VoiceTel Phone has permission under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Also check System Settings → Sound for the correct input device.
Q: Can I pre-configure the app for my users?
A: Yes. Place voicetel.json under ~/Library/Application Support/VoiceTelPhone/ for user-level or /Library/Application Support/VoiceTelPhone/ for system-wide deployment.
